Mobile Casino Gaming Via Mobile App – 3 Reasons It’s Better Than I Thought

I finally gave a mobile casino experience a genuine shot

I did it again! I completed another of my 2025 online casino goals. This past week, I downloaded the PlayOJO app to give mobile casino play a genuine shot.

I liked it. A lot.

In fact, I’m surprised at how much I did enjoy it, and these are the three main reasons why.

Mobile Casino Gaming – The Top 3 Things that Surprised Me (in a good way)

Before I get into it, please note that the specific mobile casino gaming experience I’m talking about here is the one I had using the PlayOJO mobile app*. I downloaded the app for iOS from the App Store via my iPhone. Also, this isn’t an app pros and cons list, it isn’t a promo for an app, nor is it a review about an app. While I may write a PlayOJO app review later, for now, the purpose of my post is to only share what I liked about my experience. 😁

1 – It’s fast

You don’t have to jump through hoops to link your desktop account to your mobile account. After downloading the app, I simply logged in with my existing username and password (just as I do to play on my laptop), and voilà!

From there, I allowed the app to use face ID for securer and quick access, allowing me to skip manually entering in my login credentials.

Because of this, accessing the casino via the app is much faster than having to go through the login process on desktop. Via mobile, I just have to tap the app, tap “I’m fit to play”, and – ta-da! – I’m in.

As an extra bonus, with the mobile casino app, I don’t require Xpoint Verify. This is an extra location verification step required if you play at PlayOJO Ontario via desktop.

2 – It’s realllly convenient

With a tap or swipe I can instantly:

The expression of “having everything right at your fingertips” has never been truer for an app on my phone.

3 – It’s 100% user-friendly

It’s a smooth and seamless experience. The layout is incredibly user-friendly, with organized menus, and the interface is extremely responsive. Everything I need or want to access can be found with ease.

All the games I tried via the app (including three of my favourites – Sweet Alchemy, American Blackjack, and Mega Wheel Live) loaded instantly and ran without any hiccups.

Plus, I like how I can easily switch from portrait to landscape view on my phone, with no issues. In both view modes everything displays perfectly and in a way that makes sense.

πŸ‘©‍πŸ’» Mia’s Note: If you’re in Ontario and you would like to try the PlayOJO app for yourself, it is available both in the App Store for iOS and the Play Store for Android. I believe it’s also in these stores in other jurisdictions as well (but don’t quote me on that). The best way to find out for yourself is to search whichever application store corresponds with your device’s operating system. Do I Still Prefer Desktop over a Mobile Casino Experience?

If you’ve been following my Mia’s iGaming Journey blog for a while, then you likely know that I’ve always preferred desktop iGaming to mobile.

The main reasons I’ve never truly been a mobile casino gaming fan are:

  • The small screen size
  • It’s not terribly comfortable (long play can be killer on the neck and eyes)
  • I don’t think gambling on the go (especially as a habit) is the best way to play responsibly

While I still stand by all those reasons, and I would still choose my laptop 9 times out of 10 for my usually gaming sessions, my opinion of mobile casino play has changed for the better.

I think the mobile casino app, specifically, is superior to the desktop experience in terms of speed and overall convenience. This is especially true for times when I just want to:

  • Login quickly to check what the day’s promotions are
  • Want to take part in a freeroll or buy-in tournament
  • Play a quick round of an instant win game, like Mega Wheel Live
  • Try a game demo
  • Check my account

Bottom line – yes, I still prefer desktop to mobile casino gaming. However, unlike my previous opinion, I do see value in playing via mobile where I didn’t before. I’m looking forward to using the app more. 😁

What about you? Are you a mobile casino app fan – either PlayOJO or another?

Until next time, good luck, and have fun.
