True love never dies

I have to say, I’m surprised that my favourite casino game of the month wasn’t a slot game, but Immortal Romance Video Bingo. It was the first video bingo game I’ve tried, and I liked the experience a lot more than I imagined I would.

Well, let’s get to the game facts and my experience, shall we?

Note: All details I’ve included about Immortal Romance Video Bingo below are related to the version of the game I played at an Ontario online casino. As such, it may not reflect your experience if you play this game from a location other than Ontario. For instance, some versions of this game have an autoplay/autospin feature. This feature is not available in Ontario.

Immortal Romance Video Bingo – General Gameplay Facts

About Immortal Romance Video Bingo

Immortal Romance Video Bingo is based on the original Immortal Romance slot from Microgaming, which was released way back in 2011. This time the love story between the human researcher Sarah and the vampire Michael is told through a 30-ball video bingo game instead of an online slot.

That said, this game isn’t like a typical online bingo experience that you’d have in a bingo room. The numbers on the balls drawn for the game are not called out and you don’t virtually dab them off your bingo cards. Instead, all 30 balls are drawn at once and any numbers that match those on your ticket(s) are instantly and automatically selected. A total of 2250x your bet is won if you mange to complete the 15 numbers and hit bingo.

Additionally, the game has other features that can be triggered, depending on how much luck is on your side. For instance, there is:

  • Extra Ball – This is triggered when there is a chance that at least one bingo ticket can land a win of 8x or higher with an extra ball.
  • Wild Ball – Sometimes an extra ball is transformed into a wild ball, which lets you choose any of the numbers on your bingo ticket (or you can let the game pick for you).
  • Coin symbol – Some extra balls contain coins. These coins are collected in the mouth of the lion doorknocker that is located in the centre of the game screen between the tickets. This can activate the chamber of jackpots if you’re playing all 4 tickets.
  • Eternal Chambers – This feature is activated when you land the Bonus 1 combination (covering all positions on a ticket except the third one on the second row. You are awarded 1400x the ticket bet (or 2250x if you land the bingo win) There are 5 levels to this feature, and you have the chance to win an additional 1695x the bet by the time it’s finished.
  • Immortal Picker – Triggered when you land a Bonus 2 combination (covering all positions on a ticket except the second and fourth positions on the second row). You are awarded 900x the ticket bet (or 2250x if you land the bingo win) and presented with 8 items (e.g. a watch, a spellbook, etc.). Beneath each item is a cash prize, except for one which is a collect message. You can continue to collect cash prizes one by one until you reveal the collect message.
  • Chamber of Jackpots – Triggered when you play all 4 bingo tickets and the lion doorknocker fills with coins. There is no specific amount of coins that you need to get, it’s always random. If the jackpot bonus is triggered, you get to pick 12 coins (one at a time). Each coin you select will reveal one of the 4 characters. If you match 3 of the same character, you win that character’s corresponding jackpot prize, with Sarah being the highest prize at 10,000x the bet.

Like the slot game, Immortal Romance bingo features a deliciously haunting soundtrack peppered with sound effects, such as a heartbeat. It has a dark and ominous setting, which serves as the backdrop for the 4 bingo tickets. To the left of the tickets is one of the Immortal Romance characters (Amber, Troy, Michael or Sarah), and you can choose whichever character you would like. To the right of the tickets is the play button, which activates the game.

You can play as little as 1 bingo ticket or a maximum of 4 bingo tickets per game. To reduce the number of games, simply click the tiny “x” in the ticket’s top right corner to disable it. Click the same area again to reactivate it.

My Immortal Romance Video Bingo experience

As soon as I opened the game, I instantly felt the Immortal Romance vibe (from the graphics to the sounds) and was greeted by Sarah, who is the default character selected. If you want to switch to any of the others, you can easily do this by clicking on Sarah, which will then give you the option to choose another character. The character you choose doesn’t have any affect on the game, but it’s cool to be able to pick who you’d like to have with you along for the vampire ride. During my experience I chose Sarah and then Troy.

I decided to play all four bingo tickets, which is the default. Since I was given the option to choose to play a ticket as low as 1 cent ($0.01) I went for it. Of course, since I was playing all four tickets, my total bet for the game round was $0.04. This is good to remember, because it’s easy to lose track of the actual amount you’re betting when you are playing multiple tickets at one time.

I wasn’t quite sure how the game would play out, whether I’d be clicking off ball numbers as they were called, or what. Of course, that wasn’t the case. As soon as I hit “Play” the 30 bingo balls all rolled out and any matching numbers on my four tickets were automatically marked off. Beyond hitting “Play” no other action from me was required.

Immortal Romance Video Bingo features I triggered

When I first triggered the Extra Ball feature, I didn’t know what was going on. Admittedly, I should have read the rules more thoroughly first, which is something I typically do. I guess I just wasn’t feeling it that day LOL!

Anyhoo, when the feature activated, a deep bell sound went off and 12 red rubies with question marks in their centres popped up in the middle of the game screen between the tickets. I then had the option to end the current game and collect what I’d won or buy up to 12 extra balls for the chance to win more and/or trigger a bonus feature, and possibly the jackpot feature as well.

The first time around, I decided to buy all 12 of the extra balls. This is done one at a time and the cost of extra balls went up the more I uncovered. I did mark off more of the tickets and won a little more. And by a little more, I mean minimal amounts due to my low bet. For instance, as you can see from the image below of the big $0.07 I won during one of the Extra Ball features I triggered, it wasn’t a lot hahaha – but that’s what you can expect from playing with a 1 cent bet!

The fourth time I triggered the Extra Ball feature, I triggered a Wild Ball, which was fun because it let me pick a number that allowed me to unlock a line and win.

About the seventh time I triggered the Extra Ball feature (I increased my bet to $1 per ticket by this point), while I was unlocking the extra balls, suddenly a male voice announced “One more for bonus” and the sound of a heartbeat started. I continued to purchase extra balls and finally triggered the Immortal Picker feature. This activated a short animation of Michael in the winning ticket before taking me to the area where I would pick the different symbols to uncover cash prizes beneath.

On the whole, I didn’t win a lot during my playing session, but 1: This is a high volatility game and 2: I’m a low bettor with a low-risk threshold. That said, due to this game’s Extra Ball feature, I could see a player who has a good-sized bankroll potentially enjoying some nice wins from Immortal Romance Video Bingo if they’re willing to stick around for several rounds.

What do I like most about Immortal Romance Video Bingo?

  • It was fast-paced and fun to play.
  • Good soundtrack and use of sound effects.
  • I liked that you could pick how many tickets you wanted to play per game.
  • I liked that there was a wide bet range.
  • The bonus games were a nice touch.
  • It had enough of the Immortal Romance slot theme to be true to the original slot game, but was different enough to also feel like it’s own fresh experience.

What do I like the least?

  • It’s not possible to manually click off the numbers on the tickets that correspond with the resulting bingo balls. While not a big deal, it would make the game more interactive and bingo-like.

What I thought of the other four casino games I played

Book of Shadows – This was a fun game. In fact, it was my second favourite of the lot, and had Immortal Romance Video Bingo not captured my interest as quickly as it did, it would have been my top pick. This is easily my favourite online slot of all games I’ve played so far by Nolimit City. I liked the cartoon-style graphics, the lost-in-the-deep-dark-woods environment complete with wolves howling in the distance, and that you can increase the size of your bet (and your winning potential) by decreasing the number of shadows on the reels (exposing more reels for play). I will be playing this one again.

Chaos Crew II – This was an odd game. When I first loaded and started playing, I genuinely didn’t know what I thought about it LOL! I like its cartoon style and the neon colours and the dark piano melody that picks up tempo as you play. That said, this is one of those slots that has a lot going on, but I’m not interested enough in its theme to hang in there long enough to get the most out of it. It was a new experience, but it wasn’t for me.

Grim Muerto – This was a colourful and cheerful game, complete with mariachi music and a Day of the Dead theme. However, I’m gonna be honest, it was just okay. It didn’t really grab my interest or enthusiasm like other Play’n GO games do, which lead me to realize that it might not be that I’m a huge fan of all Play’n GO games, but that I’m a huge fan of some of their games that feature the charge meter feature. I’ll probably skip playing this one in the future.

Mental – Okay, so I will say this for the game, in terms of graphics and sounds it gets an A+. It’s spooky and creepy, with lights flickering in the background of a dingy room with walls covered in blood. However, that’s about where my love for this game ends. Just like the Nolimit City game, Disturbed, that I tried, it’s just lacking something. There’s a certain cheese factor that I just can’t get past. Also, both games have extreme volatility, which I also don’t like (and should seriously stop playing LOL!) Suffice to say, this will be the last of these Nolimit City-style games I’ll personally be playing.

Mia’s 5 Star Rating for Immortal Romance Video Bingo

I give Immortal Romance Video Bingo 4 stars for:

  • Being fun to play
  • Having good bonus games
  • Cool atmospheric sounds
  • Doing a good job replicating the feel of the Immortal Romance slot

Ultimately, this is a good game to play if you are a fan of the Immortal Romance slots – either the original or Immortal Romance Mega Moolah.

Have you played Immoral Romance Video Bingo? What star rating would you give it out of 5? If you’ve played the Immortal Romance slot as well, do you have a favourite among these two casino games?

Until next time, good luck and have fun.
