August is here! It’s time for more online slots discovery and play.
Now that It’s the third time I’m doing this, I’m kind of liking that the arrival of a new month for me also means picking five casino games to try for the first time and deciding which among the bunch is my favourite.
So far, it’s been a great way to experience games on a more meaningful level, because I’m not just loading games at random and playing them. I’m carefully selecting them for a specific reason I find appealing, and then see if they deliver on the type of fun and experiences I’m expecting from them.
Also, I have to ask (on a completely unrelated casino topic), is it just where I live in the outskirts of Toronto, or have you been experiencing an annoying amount of mosquitoes this summer??? As I’m writing this, I currently have 14 bites on me just for being in my backyard and from waking my dog. That’s nuts! Typically, I don’t get more than 5 for the entire length of the summer season. Bleh, I hate mosquitoes! 🦟👏 💥 (we seriously need a flyswatter emoji).

Push Gaming (release date: July 2023)
Usually when there is a series of slot games I haven’t played before, I play the original game of the lot first before moving on to the sequels. However, this time around, I’m going to give the reels of Razor Returns a spin, even though I haven’t played its predecessor, Razor Shark. There’s no real reason for this. Razor Returns simply appealed to me first. More specifically, I’m interested in the Razor Reveal feature, where a variety of neat (and rewarding) perks can be triggered like Instant Prize symbols, where bet multipliers appear with values as high as 5,000x the bet! Looking forward to taking a bite out of this high volatility slot from Push Gaming.

I haven’t played an Ancient Egyptian themed online slot in quite some time, and I typically like these games for the most part. So, no time like the present to give a new one a spin, right? Book of Power caught my interest not just for its theme, but for its Power Free Spins feature. If you’ve been following my top 5 games picks of the month posts since I started writing them,you might be assuming that this slot will be my favourite for August, since Play’n GO casino games similar to this one have been my top picks for June – Viking Runecraft Apocalypse and July – Sweet Alchemy. Based on my track record there’s a good chance you might be right! 😂 I’m very curious to see if Reactoonz will be the winner as well or if I’ll find it to be too much like the other PNG games to stand out. Only time will tell!
Ninja Master 🥷🎰
GVG (release date: …maybe 2013?)
Another slot from GVG has made it on my top casino games of the month picks list, and hopefully I like it more than Thor: Trials of Asgard. 😂 Ninja Master is an older 3D slot and easily the oldest game on my list for this month. How old is it? Good question. I couldn’t find a definite release date for it via GVG nor from review sites I checked. I found release dates for this online slot for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.🤷♀️ Anyway, the reason this game caught my eye is for its graphics. I like how the reels are free floating in front of the game’s backdrop, and I like that it’s a pays both ways game, which means that, like the Starburst slot, you can win with left to right and right to left combinations.
Lobster Bob’s Crazy Crab Shack 🦀🎰
Pragmatic Play (release date: July 2023)
There is only one reason why this slot appealed to me, the graphics and overall look of the game is definitely inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants hahaha! I love SpongeBob and Lobster Bob’s (this bob is a lobster in a Hawaiian shirt) place has a serious Mr. Krabs and Krusty Krab vibe. This undersea cartoon slot adventure does look like it has some fun features like crab symbol instant wins and free spins, but like I said, the fact that it’s a screaming SpongeBob parody is the main reason why I’m interested.😁
