Time flies when you’re having fun!
I can’t believe it’s already been seven months since I began my online casino journey in Ontario, Canada.😲 So far, it’s been a lot of fun, I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve found some things surprising.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed my online casino playtime, right from day one when I made my very first deposit way back in January. That said, it has greatly amused me that I have both accurately assumed how I would feel about certain experiences and have been completely wrong about others.
In spite of what I have and have not liked, I’ve greatly enjoyed sharing my experiences with you and am so glad I decided to start my blog. 😁
With all that said…
Here’s what’s surprised me most on my online casino adventures, so far.
- I’m not a fan of playing on mobile – There’s no denying the convenience of playing anytime and anywhere with a pocket-sized device…but that’s one of the main issues I have with mobile casino play – it’s pocket-sized, aka the screen is small. I prefer to enjoy my online casino gaming on a larger display. I also find playing on my laptop more comfortable and that it helps me to stay in control of when and where I gamble.
- I favour slots from certain game providers – I knew I’d probably like a certain style of online casino slot, but I never thought I’d like slots specific to a game provider. Turns out, I reallllly like slots from Play’n GO. In particular, grid slots with cascading wins and charge meters. Moon Princess, Viking Runecraft Apocalypse, and Sweet Alchemy are among my favourites.
- Playing online blackjack is easier and more fun than I thought – I never saw myself as a blackjack player, but I really like this online casino card/table game. It’s surprisingly easier to learn than I thought and the help of a free blackjack strategy chart is truly a game changer. Now, I don’t just enjoy playing online blackjack, I also have a greater understanding of the odds and how the game works.
- I don’t get the point of online scratch cards – Online scratch cards aren’t for me. They lack the thrill and enjoyment I get from scratching the physical cards. Yeah, you don’t have to deal with the little shavings under your nails or all over a table, but that’s about the only plus that I can say comes from playing them for me.
- I learned that there is more to slots than meets the eye – I’ve always known that slots have paytables and rules, but I didn’t quite realize that there were so many different types of online slots with innovative mechanics, like cascading reels, re-spins, expanding wilds, etc. and what it all means. By learning fundamental slots terminology, it’s helped me to find games I really enjoy as well as how to best play them. Additionally, I also learned that since I’m in Ontario, I’m restricted from using certain features, such as the gamble feature and autoplay functions, in slots that offer them.
- I found online roulette extremely boring – I was really shocked by this latest online casino discovery. I was expecting to find roulette exciting…but when I played online European Roulette for the first time, I just couldn’t believe how utterly bored I was! Playing it seemed sort of pointless and there was zero thrill factor for me. I’m hoping it was like this because it wasn’t live. I’m going to try it again in the live casino and am hoping for a better outcome.
Here’s what I’m looking forward to in the coming months of my online casino journey.
- Playing baccarat for real money.
- Playing my first freeroll tournament (and finding out if I like claiming bonuses).
- Finding out if there is a version of online roulette I enjoy🤣 (A Twitter/X user @MicroStaker suggested lightning roulette, so I’m going to give that a try).
- Discovering if I have another game provider favourite.
- Trying the live casino for the first time.
Is there anything else you think I should (or would like to see me) try at an online casino? Let me know on my social channels or in the comments. 😊
Until next time, good luck and have fun!
